Remote travel destination very popular among Michiganders may surprise you

ALBERTA, CANADA – It’s a popular travel destination for Michiganders which may surprise you and it’s actually Canada’s most visited national park. This mountain region to our north has been named the most popular travel destination among Michigan residents.

With the picturesque Canadian Rockies in the distance, this spot is known for its pristine wilderness surroundings.

That place is Banff, Canada. And according to research conducted by the travel information site Places To Travel, Banff is the most searched destination in Michigan. Places to Travel says it analyzed Google Trends data to establish the top vacation destinations in each state with Banff being Michigan’s most popular.

Banff is located in Alberta about a 90 minute drive west of Calgary and is easily accessible from Calgary International Airport. It’s known for its scenery, outdoor exploring and activities. It is not only Canada’s most visited national park, but its first.

“Banff National Park is a world-class and awe-inspiring mountain destination with easy access to pristine wilderness, outdoor adventures, jaw-dropping sights, and a vibrant history and culture,” Kim Logan from Banff & Lake Louise Tourism told MLive.

Logan adds that Banff is one of those places you can visit year-round for outdoor adventures for all ages and interests.

As far as the most popular travel destination overall for Americans, according to Places To Travel: Italy ranks at the top as it is the number one most searched travel spot in 10 states. Hawaii is second, topping the searches in nine states.
