Myrtle Beach ranked among top five travel destinations for summer 2024

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WPDE) — The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced the city was recognized as a Top Family Travel Destination for Summer 2024, according to Google Flights.

Myrtle Beach came in second on the travel website’s top five list based on the most searched-for destinations by American families for travel between June 1 and August 31. Myrtle Beach was also the only US-based destination on the list.

Top 2024 travel destinations and more affordable ‘dupes’ based on TV, movies

As jet setters look to book next year’s vacation, Expedia Group predicts travelers will continue to be inspired by their favorite TV shows and movies.

According to Expedia’s “Unpack ’24” report, based on a survey of 20,000 travelers across North and South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific (conducted online between Sept. 12 and Oct. 5), one in four respondents indicated that TV and films are more influential for their travel plans than they were before.

Specifically TV shows were identified as being even more influential than Instagram, TikTok and podcasts.
