MUMBAI: The top travel destinations among Indian travelers largely remained the same and the trend stayed true this year as well, what with New Delhi and NCR again ending up as the most booked domestic destinations in India, said a travel portal which looked at travel behavior in the year 2023. Bali is one of Australian travellers’ favorite destinations but it looks like it’s not a top pick for holiday-makers this festive season.
Tourism and Transport Forum Australia’s (TTF) summer holiday survey, released on Thursday, found the top international destination this year was New Zealand, followed by anywhere in Europe, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and then … Indonesia.
Just four per cent of those surveyed said they were going to Indonesia, home of the wildly popular island, Bali, while 17 per cent were traveling to New Zealand, 16 per cent to Europe and 10 per cent to Japan.

There are three areas in the state included among the personal finance website’s Best Summer Travel Destinations 2024.
WalletHub released the list of 100 US destinations likely for summer travel based on travel expenses and hassles, local costs, attractions, weather, activities and safety.
“When picking a summer travel destination, it’s easy to focus just on the types of activities you want to do or certain cities you’ve always wanted to see,” WalletHub Analyst Cassandra Happe said in the report.
Amid high inflation, the trend of searching for “dupes” — duplicates of higher-end items — has risen in popularity. This extends to everything from beauty products to designer goods to even vacation destinations. “Dupe” destinations can save travelers big money versus vacationing in a hotspot.

“In 2024, Americans are more likely to choose hidden-gem destinations over tried-and-true tourist hotspots for their vacations,” Jon Gieselman, president of Expedia Brands, told CNBC.
